There is a difference between Jesus being our Bread of Life and just wanting His bread. John 6.
Prosperity and increase are not fruit of the Spirit. That is, they are not indicators of being in alignment with the will of God. Nor are they proof that we love God. It’s very possible to utilize Biblical principles in order to prosper, yet be bound in the idolatry of mammon, pride, and selfish-ambitions. Because of this, these things should not be our pursuit.
There were many who only followed Jesus for his miracles and for what He could give them, but were immediately offended and turned off when He charged them to abandon their idols, desires, and way in order to truly follow Him.
Do we want The Bread of Life …or His just His bread?

Joshua 1:8
Ephesians 1:3
